Energy Makers Academy is built by Open Energy Labs, a London-based company working with partners across East and Southern Africa. We combine open-design hardware, a mobile learning app and hands-on training so that anyone — anywhere the sun reaches — can learn solar electronics and turn that skill into a livelihood.
Our hardware is made to be opened, probed and repaired. Exposed schematics, labelled test points, hackable firmware — the device is the syllabus.
Everything in the EMA Kit runs off-grid. Learners practise on the same energy source their communities depend on — no mains socket required.
The goal isn't a certificate on a wall. It's graduates who install, repair and sell solar — jobs, repair shops and businesses that keep the lights on.
